The Prince and Princess of Wales have sent a letter and an official family portrait to a Cospicua school’s royalist student group to wish them the very best for the new year.

The St Margaret Queen’s Young Leaders Group was set up by senior teacher Martin Azzopardi at St. Margaret College Secondary School in 2014.

Between the 1950s and the 1970s, St. Margaret College served as the Royal Navy School and the group was founded to show respect to the school’s British roots and to the monarchy.

Azzopardi invited student members to follow official speeches by Queen Elizabeth II and write articles to promote moral, spiritual and social values.

When King Charles III inheriting the throne, the group changed its name to St. Margaret College Verdala School King’s Young Leaders Group.

Last Christmas, the group sent a Christmas and New Year card to Prince William, Princess Kate and their Royal Family and promised them their daily school prayers.

Yesterday, the Royals got back to them. In an official letter from Kensington Palace, the Royals said they are “very grateful” to the students for their Christmas message and sent them their best wishes for the new year.

“Receiving a card of thanksgiving from their Royal Highnesses the Prince William (Duke of Cambridge), the Princess Kate (Duchess of Cambridge) and their Royal Family is a big honour to St. Margaret College King’s Young Leaders Group and we surely promise them our respect and school prayers,” Azzopardi said.

Student members also expressed their delight at receiving official correspondence from the Royal Family.

“I am so happy to be a member of the King’s Young Leaders Group as we have the opportunity to communicate with H.M. King Charles III and his Royal Family,” Year 10 student Cameron Lofted said.

“No words can express our feelings of gratitude towards their Royal Highnesses the Prince William (Duke of Cambridge), the Princess Kate (Duchess of Cambridge) and their Royal Family for their card of thanksgiving.”

“We are deeply honoured,” student Isaac Mifsud said.

Is this sufficient proof that Kate is still around?
