St. Julian’s Residents Are Being Evacuated Due To Flooding Caused By The Storm
Following intense flooding caused by the current storm, residents of buildings in St. Julian’s are being evacuated from their homes. Specifically, residents of the Park Towers building in St. Julian’s are being evacuated.
Strong winds are causing the water from the sea by the promenade to flood the streets of St. Julian’s, Balluta and Sliema, which is making its way into some residential buildings from the street.
The department of Civil Protection has received over 200 phone calls since the morning, calling for assistance in removing dangers from roads and at people’s houses. Roughly 50 workers from the Civil Protection, as well as volunteers from the St John’s rescue are participating in the assistance operation.
