Six Years Prison For Man Who Tried To Burn Down Ex’s Msida Home

A 35-year-old man has been sentenced to six and a half years in prison after admitting to setting fire to the Msida residence where his ex-partner lived.

Boris Kotsev, a Bulgarian citizen, was accused of setting fire to the residence where his ex-partner resided between the 12th and 13th of November 2022.

Police investigations, supported by CCTV footage, led to the conviction of the accused.

Court granted bail to the accused with a guarantee of €2,000, along with a restraining order barring him from approaching the victim and her family.

Kotsev was also ordered to pay €6,817 in court expenses.
