Sliema Balcony Collapses And Smashes Unlucky Car As Gale-Force Winds Hit Malta
A balcony in Sliema gave way this morning and damaged a parked car underneath it, possibly as a result of the strong gale-force winds currently sweeping over Malta.
A police spokesperson confirmed that the balcony in Hughes Hallett Street collapsed at around 11:45am and photos received by Lovin Malta show several rocks sprayed onto the street.
Thankfully, a major accident was avoided and no people were injured.
Strong winds are set to climax at Force 8 over the rest of the day, but gusts of Forces 5 and 6 might carry on for most of the week.
