‘This Is Hatred’: PN MP Blasts Manuel Delia Over ‘Tumour’ Remark At Franco Debono

Nationalist MP Alex Borg has come out swinging after journalist and activist Manuel Delia compared Franco Debono’s return to the political agenda to a “re-emerging tumour”.

“Manuel Delia doesn’t know what a tumour is and he doesn’t understand the consequences of his word,” Borg wrote.

“This isn’t mockery, this is hatred. The words of a small man wearing the dangerous jacket of a pseudo-intellectual. Words that isolate you and that are completely indefensible.”

Borg, who recently endorsed a political comeback for Debono, also hit out at PL media house ONE after it described Delia as “the mouthpiece of the Nationalist establishment”

“Manuel Delia isn’t the PN and he isn’t an NGO. Like ONE, he is an agent of division,” Borg said. “His words are similar to ‘those who aren’t with us are against us’ (min mhux magħna hu kontra tagħna), words that my father taught me to despise and stop.”

“Maltese politics is more than that. It could be that I never make it to government but I will still do my utmost to ensure that the country and party are united and without hatred, not even toward its political adversaries.”

“Over time, the PN realised what is good for it and the country, and it made it’s choice years ago. Don’t let agents of division place people like him in the same basket as the PN. Let’s not let words like this divide us. The PN is a chain, a sequence of loops that must keep joining with each other and that requires all our talents, and above all, goodwill from everyone to lead the country forward.”
