When it comes to celebrating and supporting the Down Syndrome community in Malta, there’s one organisation that has been at the forefront for years.

Down Syndrome Association Malta‘s mission is all about providing “the means necessary to empower individuals who have Down syndrome to reach their full potential”.

“Our vision is to become a model organisation that will not cease until every person who has Down Syndrome is a valued member of society.”

An NGO founded by the parents of people with Down Syndrome, it relies entirely on voluntary donations and memberships – so if you want to help out, you can become a member and help a great cause.

The group shares regular facts about Down Syndrome, helping break myths and raise awareness.

DSAM are all about “knowing the facts and ending the myths”.

And their work is making a difference – the group was among the most popular nominations for the recent Lovin Malta Social Media Awards, and though they didn’t make it to the finals, the sheer support from the public shows the real difference the group is making in people’s lives.

Whether you are looking for support for your own family or loved ones, are trying to learn more about the community or want to volunteer and help out, DSAM are doing an incredible job and deserve all the support they get
