UK Racer Offering €5,000 Reward For Car Stolen From Ħal Far Raceway
A British racer is offering a €5,000 reward if anyone finds his car after it was stolen from the Ħal Far raceway while he was in Malta for a competition.
Sean Prout appealed to Facebook users last night to help him find his car after it was stolen, with his post getting shared over a thousand times.
“My car has been taken from Ħal Far raceway, please share this as fast as possible and get my car back! This is not a joke people,” Prout said desperately.
He continued uploading detailed photos of his car, a Honda Civic ep3 racer, which he spent over €100,000 to upgrade to its current state.
Within an hour, Prout’s reward for finding his car went up from €2,000 to €5,000, as concerns about the car quickly being taken apart continued to rise.
CCTV footage captured the car leaving from Ħal Far at around 11.40pm, however, the footage was not the best given the light conditions.
“After this, it was spotted being towed by a small gold or silver Toyota with a very bad trailer! And mostly covered by a black tarp. It was actually stopped by a member of the public as the parachute was hanging out the back!” he shared.
“This was spotted on the bypass by the old Vodafone offices in Birkirkara, and the guy driving had lots of tattoos and a black hoodie.”
“If the man sees this do the right thing and leave the car somewhere and I’ll take my car and go home,” Prout appealed.
