‘Very Unfortunate Accident’: Żabbar Shooting Turns Out To Be Hunters Aiming At The Same Bird
A shooting that led to slight injuries sustained by two hunters this morning in Żabbar turned out to be a “very unfortunate accident”, a police spokesperson told Lovin Malta.
The men were aiming at the same turtle dove from adjacent fields and accidentally sprayed each other with lead pellets.
The 36-year-old Zabbar resident was taken to Mater Dei Hospital for treatment, whilst the other man, 35-year-old from Gharghur, was taken to a health centre for treatment, both suffered slight injuries.
Initial indications suggested that the men got into an argument. However, further investigation revealed that this was an accident.
Police investigations into the incident will continue.
