The footage, which was published by the state broadcaster TVM, was shot on Saturday afternoon, moments after the fatal stabbing.

The murder suspect, 28-year-old Mahy Ezzo Saeed, can be seen being roughed around, physically detained and even chased down the Marsa streets, with one person even being heard repeatedly shouting, “You are not going anywhere”.

Saeed was eventually surrounded and blocked from escaping from a dead end near Triq Is-Sajjieda. By the end of the video, a number of Rapid Intervention Unit officers can be seen arresting the murder suspect.

Saeed has been charged with the murder after stabbing a 21-year-old Egyptian man four times in the chest and back.

He has been remanded in arrest and pleaded not guilty to the charges. No request for bail was made since Saeed doesn’t have a place to live himself.

On 24th July at around 6.30pm, police were informed of an argument between two people in Triq Patri Feliċjan Bilocca, Marsa.

An injured and unconscious man was found on site with injuries caused by a sharp instrument.

The victim was given help by a medical team on location. He suffered four wounds to his chest and back.
