Watch: Franco Debono – ‘New Hydrogen Strategy Shows My Long-Term Vision’
With the Budget done and dusted, lawyer and former MP Franco Debono has zeroed in on an announcement that didn’t get much attention.
A strategy on how Malta can use hydrogen as an energy source will be launched next year, and Debono was pleased to note that a proposal he had made as an MP some 12 years ago is finally coming to fruition.
“This is a dream of mine that is becoming a reality and which shows my long-term vision for the country,” he said. “Besides all my proposals on the justice, constitutional and parliamentary systems, I was the first and only MP who urged Malta to move towards hydrogen 12 years ago.”
“This is just the start and I urge people to participate and contribute in this sector, I believe and still do that hydrogen is the energy of the future.”
He urged MPs to use their positions to issue such proposals for the good of the nation.
“I have always believed in the politics of proposals, that you are in politics to positively contribute to Malta’s progress,” he said.
Do you think hydrogen is the future of Malta’s energy sector?
