Nationalist Party delegates observed a moment of silence in honour of Jean Paul Sofia to mark the first anniversary since his tragic death.

PN MP Jerome Caruana Cilia, who has long been at the forefront in calling for justice for Sofia, brought it up when addressing the General Council yesterday.

“On 3rd December, 20-year-old Jean Paul Sofia lost his life when he was caught under the rubble of a building that collapsed in Kordin,” Caruana Cilia said.

“May I remind you that his body was recovered by CPD workers early the next morning after a rescue operation that lasted over 15 hours. Jean Paul was killed in the blink of an eye and was found dead under the rubble.”

He then led delegates to observe a moment of silence in honour of Sofia.

Sofia’s mother, Isabelle Bonnici, recently gave Lovin Malta an emotional tour of her late son’s bedroom, which has remained untouched since his death.
