Watch: Robert Abela Is Too Weak And Didn’t Even Have The Guts To Fire Rosianne Cutajar, PN Leader Warns

Prime Minister Robert Abela doesn’t have the guts to fire those entangled in scandals like Rosianne Cutajar according to PN leader Bernard Grech.

His comments come just as Cutajar announced her resignation from the Labour Party following eyebrow-raising leaks of WhatsApp chats with her and Yorgen Fenech, the prime suspect in the Daphne Caruana Galizia murder case.

“Robert Abela doesn’t have the authority or strength to remove people who slip up. No wonder Anton Refalo and Ian Borg are still there. We hear about scandals about Labour ministers and yet, they remain in power,” he said on Net News this evening.

“Cutajar resigned but kept her seat in parliament, she has challenged Robert Abela because he is weak, he has no courage, and he isn’t in control of the Labour Party or the decisions of the country. Abela doesn’t decide, others decide for him,” Grech continued.

Ex-Book council chairman Mark Camilleri published the damning chats last month, exposing intimate texts between Cutajar and Fenech. The texts date from June to September 2019, a few months before Fenech was arrested and charged with the journalist’s murder.

In one of the texts, Cutajar said that “everyone is pigging out” referring to the corrupt behaviour of her party colleagues, and that therefore she would join in. This is the reason why Robert Abela “didn’t have the guts” to remove her, according to the PN head.

“Rosianne Cutajar was pointing fingers at her colleagues and said there is a competition on who can pig out the most. What does she know about Robert Abela, the Labour Party and her own colleagues?” he said.

“That’s why he didn’t have the guts to remove her. We must be decisive and be the party of the people and for the people and get out of this ten-year nightmare.”
