WATCH: Woman Abandons Car And Films It Sinking Into Ċirkewwa Sea
A female driver had a lucky escape from her vehicle after it sunk into the sea at night – and even had a chance to quickly film it as it fell beneath the waves, lights still shining.
In a video uploaded by Maltese diver and adventurer Raniero Borg, the driver’s red vehicle can be seen forlornly filling up with seawater just off of Ċirkewwa’s south pier.
Speaking to Borg, the driver explained that she was planning on mounting the Gozo ferry, and mistakenly thought it was going to leave from the south pier.
However, as she drove on the ramp there, she ended up losing control of her vehicle and was forced to jump out and abandon her car.
Somehow, she was able to quickly grab some footage of her car before it sunk beneath the seas.
The incident happened about a month ago, and her car was dredged up from the sea along with two other vehicles that had been taken by the sea in the same area last week.
With multiple vehicles falling victim to the south ramp, an appeal has been made for drivers to avoid the risk of falling into the sea from that area.
