The Indian community in Malta held a silent demonstration in Valletta in protest to a number of attacks on Indian nationals on the island.

The protest comes after the latest attack allegedly saw three men beat a man with a hammer, leading to his sustaining injuries across his body.

“Malta is well known for its low crime rates, but it is beginning to show a drastic growth in crimes, including physical assaults, vandalising and other abuses,” one member of the community told Lovin Malta.

“It is unfortunate that members of our community are nowadays becoming victims to these criminal acts,” he continued.

The community maintain that at least six different incidents of assault have occurred on their community members in recent months.
