Watch: Roads Turn Into Rivers & Manholes Overflow – Chaotic Scenes From Today’s Storm

Storm season is finally upon us and it’s hit the island with a bang.

From roads quickly turning into rivers and a staggering amount of traffic accidents being reported, Malta’s streets were a precarious place to be in this afternoon, with a number of manholes in Balzan, Mosta, and Birkirkara overflowing and draining spewing out as the infrastructure battled to keep up with the sudden influx of water.

Footage from all over Malta shows the chaotic effect this storm has had in just a few hours. So, he is all the footage captured by or sent to Lovin Malta from today’s rain.

 

This storm has proved to be dangerous with a number of traffic accidents leaving some minorly injured, and others fighting for their lives.

A 31-year-old motorcyclist was involved in a three-vehicle collision in Luqa. He’s currently at Mater Dei at risk of dying.

Meanwhile, two trucks collided by the Mellieħa roundabout, with footage sent to Lovin Malta showing the aftermath of the scene.

Similarly, a car overturned on the Mosta main road – thankfully, no one was injured in this case.

More positive scenes have also emerged from today’s storm like a glorious double rainbow that was spotted from multiple areas around the islands.

Nonetheless, authorities have urged road users to drive safely while weather experts revealed that the storm will stretch on till tomorrow.
