The government has unveiled plans to allow commuters to use their Tallinja Card on the ferry that connects Sliema, Valletta and Kottonera.
During the press conference minister Ian Borg confirmed the 260,000 Tallinja Card holders could also be saving money on their fare, with the ferry’s cost dropping to €1.30.
“Together with the ferry operators, our aim is to improve the connectivity in the inner harbour area thus making travel easier for our customers. More and more people are now commuting to Valletta using public transport.”
Last year over a million commuters used the ferry, and this year has already seen 600,000 users.
