A Concert For A Cause: ‘Laudete Dominum’ Brings Hope To Children In Need

St. John’s Co-Cathedral is set to host a special evening of music and compassion with the ‘Laudete Dominum’ concert on 4th October. Organised by Malta Enterprise as part of their annual Corporate Social Responsibility initiative, the concert aims to raise funds for the Children in Need Foundation—an organisation that has significantly impacted families like the Tantis.
Thiago Tanti was only a few months old when he was diagnosed with a tumour in his right eye, aggressively growing towards his brain. His family faced numerous treatments, operations and the emotional weight of seeing their baby struggle. “It was incredibly hard to come to terms with Thiago’s condition,” his mother Miriam shares. “It took a heavy toll on him and on us.”

Amidst this turmoil, a signal of hope emerged when the Children in Need Foundation stepped in to support them. The family was given the chance to escape from their struggles—a magical trip to Disneyland Paris.
“Children in Need was more than just financial support,” Miriam recalls. “They covered everything—the hotel, rides, meals. We didn’t have to think about anything. For three days, we could forget the pain and seeing Thiago so happy, enjoying the rides and characters, gave us a sense of relief and hope.”
This transformative experience uplifted the family’s spirits and motivated them to give back to others. “We feel indebted,” Miriam admits. “We’ll do our best to help others, just like the Children in Need Foundation helped us.”
By attending ‘Laudete Dominum,’ you’re supporting the foundation’s mission to bring joy and essential aid to children facing adversity. The concert will feature performances by soprano Nicola Said, tenor Cliff Zammit Stevens and the Jubilate Deo Choir, which includes both adult voices and the Pueri Cantores Children’s Choir, led by choir master Daniela Ellul. All will be conducted by Maestro Christopher Muscat. With a blend of sacred and classical masterpieces, it promises to be an unforgettable evening.

This year marks Malta Enterprise’s 20th anniversary, and this concert reflects their ongoing commitment to enriching the community. “Our motivation is simply a desire to create positive change,” said William Wait, Chairman of Malta Enterprise. “We want to be at the forefront of raising awareness of real issues impacting society.”
