The iconic fishing village of Marsaxlokk has captured the hearts of locals and foreigners for decades. We rarely stop and appreciate all the beauty and local flair that exists in places like this, so here’s a reminder that we live on a beautiful island.

Sit back, relax, and take a second to remember why Marsaxlokk is a little slice of paradise.

1. That beautiful church

The Church of Our Lady of Pompeii lives up to her name. Stunning, and a piece of history trapped in time.

2. You can spend a night in a Lighthouse

If you’re the type that likes to spend a weekend in a farmhouse to disconnect and recharge, you’ll love this place. An old British lighthouse repurposed into 2 different apartments. The inside is simple, clean and well-maintained, and there are plenty of beautiful beaches and walking trails to keep yourself occupied and retune with nature. Best of all? It’s run by Din l-Art Helwa, and money from renting the place goes into environmental restoration projects.

3. The Sunday fish market

Nothing tastes better during a hot summer than a cold beer and a grilled fish. The Marsaxlokk fish market is going to hit the spot for anyone looking for something tasty to throw on a barbeque.

Most people know about the beautiful St.Peters Pool, but did you know that the whole Delimara area is full of small secret pools waiting to be explored? If you and your friends want to have a once-in-a-lifetime experience, you can book a private boat from the Marsaxlokk Water Polo Club to sail out to one of these uncovered gems. 7. Xrobb l-Għaġin

This untouched piece of land hosts some of the most beautiful natural scenery you’ll find in Malta. Besides the garigue landscape and blue sea, you’ll also find the ruins of a megalithic temple, and a hostel set up to encourage sustainable development and eco-living.
