What does your ideal social event sound like? Is it bonding with your besties over breakfast and mimosas, or dancing the night away to the latest hits? Maybe its just appreciating a gorgeous view over a good meal with a loved one.

Well, whatever the answer is, Palazzo de Piro in Mdina has got you covered.

The 17th Century palazzo is well known as a wedding and events venue, but this summer they’re upping their game

Whilst it will still cater as a venue for all sorts of events, it’s also making a name for itself as a new favourite hangout spot. Whether you’re looking to chill out atop the historic Mdina bastions, or get your groove on over a few drinks, Palazzo de Piro has something for everyone.

1. Weekend breakfasts

From Eggs Benedict to French Toast and all the tea and coffee you can dream of, breakfast lovers are sure to fall in love with the selection available at Palazzo de Piro. Every Saturday and Sunday from 9am to noon, the breakfast menu provides clients with the freshest food on offer.

This summer, the breakfast menu includes a full English Breakfast, a vast selection of egg-based meals, a fruity granola bowl, and a classically Maltese approach to breakfast.

2. Acoustic Tuesdays

Every Tuesday from 8pm onwards, Palazzo de Piro is hosting local singer Cheryl Balzan who will be serenading guests with her soothing acoustic sounds. Acoustic nights are free to enter, and will boast an à la carte menu and a wide variety of cocktails and drinks to keep you satisfied.

Expect great views, good vibes, and music that soothes your ears and your soul.

3. Gin and Jazz Wednesdays

Another one for music lovers, every Wednesday night the Mdina bastions will echo with the sound of funky jazz. Just like the acoustic nights, à la carte food and drinks will be available, but this time with a special focus on gin.

Sip on some G&T’s as you and your friends boogie the night away in the (not so) silent city.

4. Live DJ Thursdays

If you’re looking to get your groove on to something a little more mainstream, DJ Carlo Gerada will be hitting the decks every Thursday night. Live chill sessions featuring all the freshest summer tunes are the order of the night, alongside yummy food and enough drinks to keep you dancing.

Gather your friends and treat yourselves to a week-night hangout to take the edge off.

From platters and pastas, to meats and desserts and everything in between, they’ve got something for everyone.

Of course amongst all these meals and themed nights, the palazzo is still serving as a stunning venue for weddings and events. With several indoor and outdoor spaces, this historic building serves as the perfect backdrop for all sorts of events, receptions and banquets.

The Xara Catering Team, led by Chef de Cuisine Kevin Bonello, can cater for groups of 10 to as many as 300 guests in this unique venue.
