WATCH: Darlene Is The Best Thing To Happen To Malta And If You Don’t Know Who She Is I’m Going To Be Engrij

Ok. Okay. O K A Y. You’re going to have to stop whatever you’re doing and take some time out of your day to read this article. Because we’re about to discuss a pillar of Maltese culture. An icon in the making. A legit superstar.

Her name is Darlene.

Do you know who she is? Because if the answer is yes, we’re officially bast frands.  If you don’t know her, don’t warry, you’re about to find out.

Darlene is a character from the iconic Hit Malta People videos on YouTube, a series from creator Jon Aedyn King.

And if you’ve never watched those videos you need to. Right now. You can learn all about them here. Darlene features in the third instalment of the series and it is, in my humble opinion, the best one.

This video is a great introduction to Darlene, you get to know about her children (Rodent, Textron and Matrix) and start to pick up on her pekjulijer way of speaking and her iconic catch phrases.

My personal favourite is “handbeg for her berday, what a great idiyer“.

Darlene is a very adventure person

Yes, adventure. Not adventurous. That’s what Darlene would say. She enjoys going on walks and exploring new opportunities. As we saw before, she enjoys celebrating the Christmas festivals.

She also enjoys exploring Valletta, helping the pollination, and trying out new jobs.

But what makes Darlene the icon that she is, is her ability to be unabashedly herself

She doesn’t care what people think of her. She is happy to walk around in a fur coat and bunny ears if that is what makes her feel good. She certainly doesn’t need anyone’s approval.

But, if you ignore Darlene, she’s bound to get a bit testy. She is a sexy piece of Maltese bread and she wants you to know it.

Darlene recently gave the fans what they truly deserved and made herself a Facebook page

“Hello and tenks you for taking out the time to visit my page. And you know what? It’s bout time I got my page. I needed a way to connect with my fens. You are so specialised to me. When the cameraman first followed me, I hed no ideyer that I would become a figurehead of the Maltese islands, like before when we had the queen. And you know what? Darlene rhymes with queen so it only makes cents. But don’t tell anyone ta, it’s a secretion. Always and forever, Darlene. (Oh and by the wayne, I have one more specialised message:
“Live, laugh, love. Yes.”

Darlene uses her page to keep in touch with her fans and update them on her latest adventurings

Infekt she recently shared some photos from a trip to Ħal-Kirkop, and as super fans of Darlene the Lovin Malta team has been informed that this might be the subject of her next video. We are very excitement.
