‘Use Your Power’: Valletta Protest Demands Justice For Daphne Caruana Galizia After 68 Months
Tonight at 7pm, 68 months after Daphne Caruana Galizia’s assassination, Occupy Justice Malta will be holding a protest in Great Siege Square, Valletta – demanding that justice is delivered.
“Don’t underestimate the power of protest” said OJM in a post to social media, which included a video tribute quoting Pia Zammit, who gave a speech at a vigil held last month.
This action will follow tens of vigils and protests demanding real justice, as the months since the journalist’s assassination continue to rack up.
“If you won’t listen to the shouts of the living, then you must listen to the screams of Daphne Caruana Galizia who was stalked, harassed and vilified, before she was brutally assassinated because she knew too much.”
“If you truly want justice, then why have you consistently failed to implement the recommendations of the inquiry?”
The protest tonight will encourage those of us who believe in justice to believe in the power of protest to facilitate and force change.
It reminds us that we are not nearly as unable to influence the way the country is run than we are often made to feel.
“Use your power” said OJM, “Raise your voice.”
“What are you waiting for? More deaths?”
