WATCH: Gozo Ferry Passenger Finds The Most Unique Fishing Spot Around

Riding the Gozo Ferry feels like a special, shortened version of getting on the bus.  In those 20 minutes, you’ll never who you’re going to bump into, and that sometimes leads to some very unique shenanigans. That’s exactly what happened this morning, when a man was filmed literally fishing from atop the ship’s deck.

In a video sent in to Lovin Malta, the man can be seen casually taking out a fishing line from a small brown bag and throwing it out at sea. Judging by the colour and depth of the sea in the short video, it seems like the ship might’ve not been moving, but it’s definitely still not something you see every day.

Not a lot more context was given, but then again, who needs context to a guy who’s just fishing from the Gozo Ferry? The person who sent in the video, Neil Falzon, told Lovin Malta that the man appeared and sounded to be of a foreign nationality.

Lovin Malta reached out to the Gozo Channel Operations Limited to clear the air on the weird video. “Well, it’s technically not allowed,” a manager said, “but we’ve already received a couple of reports on a foreign man who has reportedly been using the ferry to fish.”

As left-field (and technically forbidden) as the act may be, however, the man seems to have gotten quite the knack for it. In fact, a second video shows a freshly-caught fish just lying by the deck’s bench.
