Ryanair has announced a new upcoming route from Malta to Stockholm Arlanda, which will run from November 2022 to March 2023.

Flights will depart from both Malta and Stockholm twice weekly on Tuesdays and Saturdays, making it an ideal option for a quick weekend break this winter.

“As both Europe and Malta’s biggest airline, Ryanair is delighted to add this new route from Malta to Stockholm to our upcoming Winter’ 22 schedule,” Ryanair’s Malta Air CEO David O’Brien said.

“Ryanair is driving year-round direct inbound tourism to Malta from key European markets, now including this new connection with Stockholm to welcome Swedish tourists to the island, whilst continuously increasing travel options for our Maltese customers.”

Meanwhile, Malta Tourism Authority CEO Carlo Micallef hailed the new route as one that will allow the island to welcome more Swedish tourists during the shoulder months.

“The Malta Tourism Authority welcomes Ryanair’s announcement of the Stockholm – Malta route adding new connectivity in the shoulder and winter months and greatly supporting the tourism sector’s recovery post-pandemic,” he said.

“We look forward to welcoming more tourists from Sweden for short holidays as well as longer stays.”

Air Malta already flies to Stockholm Arlanda but this new Ryanair route will give travellers more options when searching for a Scandinavian holiday this winter.
