‘Thank You For Showing Me Support’: Rosianne Cutajar Breaks Silence After Damning Messages Leak
Labour sitting MP Rosianne Cutajar has finally broken the silence after damning messages between herself and suspected murderer Yorgen Fenech were leaked to the public.
Addressing her following on Instagram, Cutajar thanked her supporters for reaching out and showing her support following the leak.
“Hundreds of people are reaching out to me every day and I just wanted to thank you all for showing me support. Doing my utmost to answer each and every one of you,” Cutajar said last night.
On Tuesday, former book council chair and author Mark Camilleri leaked thousands of messages between Cutajar and Fenech, depicting both an intimate and professional relationship.
This comes after Cutajar had opened a libel case against Camilleri when he claimed that the two had been romantically involved.
The alleged chats date from June to September 2019, a few months before Fenech was arrested and charged with Daphne Caruana Galizia’s murder.
From “I want to love you” to “immisjajtek”, the alleged messages depict a seemingly intimate relationship. Other messages show Cutajar offering help with a statement Fenech needed to publish following allegations made against him, and even Cutajar asking for help with her campaigns.
Since then, Cutajar’s lawyers have asked the criminal court to intervene, with police being ordered to investigate Camilleri.
Meanwhile, Camilleri has implied that he is no longer on the island.
Following the state’s decision to open an investigation into Camilleri, a protest was organised by the civil society group Repubblika yesterday in Valletta, in support of Camilleri.
