Emanuel Cuschieri Lands Position On Government Committee After Losing Radio Show
Labour Party activist Emanuel Cuschieri has been handed a position on the government’s Welfare Committee.
According to information published by the government gazette, Cuschieri was appointed to the role on 18th July, just two weeks after his radio show on One was cancelled.
The committee, which falls under the Social Policy Ministry, also includes former PN face Roselyn Borg Knight, who has been appointed chairperson. Borg Knight has gotten closer to the Labour Party ever since leaving the PN earlier this year.
It is unclear what his remuneration will be. However, the appointment has raised eyebrows given Cuschieri’s position as a Labour Party attack dog in recent years.
Cuschieri’s weekly show was known for its impassioned defence of the Labour Party and its condemnation and mockery of people who criticise it.
Cuschieri has notably continued to publicly stand up for Joseph Muscat following his resignation as Prime Minister, a stance not all ONE TV programmes have taken.
