The fifth worker has been recovered from the rubble of this morning’s construction site collapse in Kordin, Paola.

Minister for Home Affairs Byron Camilleri personally gave the update on his Facebook page, thanking officials involved in the rescue mission.

The condition of the five workers involved in this shocking incident is still unknown. They are currently receiving treatment at Mater Dei Hospital.

Police told Lovin Malta that the incident occurred at around 10am, with the site being located close to the Civil Protection Department’s base in Kordin.

Members of the CPD have been carrying out a very delicate mission to recover the workers which were on site when the site collapsed.

Drivers have been advised to avoid the area, with the Malta Traffic Updates App issuing a warning.
