Hugo Chetcuti’s Family Calls For Donations To Nuns In Lieu Of Flowers At Funeral
Hugo Chetcuti’s family has called on people attending the Paceville mogul’s funeral to give donations to the Sisters of the Ursuline Creche instead of flowers.
Chetcuti’s funeral will take place this Thursday at 10am at the parish church of Paola, his childhood town.
In a statement, Chetcuti’s family said that attendees are requested to wear black, turn off their mobiles and refrain from filming. They have also been asked not to bring flowers, but to instead send donations to the Ursuline Creche in Sliema – therefore fulfilling one of the late businessman’s wishes. Donations can be made online here.
Chetcuti died last week a few days after he was stabbed in the stomach outside one of his new Paceville establishments.
A Serbian ex-employee has been arrested and charged with his murder but is pleading not guilty. The suspect was originally named as Bojan Cmelik, but an old acquaintance has claimed with Lovin Malta that his real name is actually Bojan Mitic – raising suspicion that he had used a fake passport to get around in Malta.
