Ira Losco may have walked on water but she failed to bring home the Eurovision title, despite high expectations country-wide.

Malta’s pregnant sweetheart placed 12th (despite being tied in the final score with The Netherlands), failing to beat the record she set in 2002 when she was the first Maltese performer to place second at Eurovision. 

After a stellar performance, she earned 153 points, losing out to Ukraine in the voting.

The title has been edited to correct Malta’s rank. Ira’s song scored equal points to The Netherlands, however according to Eurovision regulations: in the case of a tie, the country receiving points from the most countries comes out on top.
