Serial Thief Caught On Camera Trying To Rob Moira Delia’s Apartment Thrown Into Jail

A man who was caught on camera by TV presenter and animal rights activist Moira Delia as he tried to rob her apartment has been jailed for 60 days.
Delia had confronted the man – identified by a reader as Polish national Tomasz Zerucha – on camera when she caught him stealing a set of keys and a statuette from her St Julian’s apartment complex. Caught red-handed, the would-be robber initially gave an excuse that he was just waiting in the hall for his girlfriend while she had sex with another man upstairs. When Delia repeatedly threatened to call the police, Zerucha returned the keys, apologised profusely and left the apartment complex.
However, he was unable to escape justice for long. Shortly after her video went viral on social media, Delia confirmed the police had caught him and were interrogating him. A police spokesperson has since confirmed with Lovin Malta that Zerucha has been charged in court and sentenced to 60 days imprisonment, although specific questions on his charge sheet remain unanswered as of the time of writing.
After the man’s face was splashed all over social media, young Polish national Jędrzej Drobiński told this website that Zerucha had robbed his phone in Paceville a few weeks before he tried to break into Moira Delia’s apartment complex. Drobiński said he had physically hauled Zerucha to the police officers stationed in Paceville, but that they just threw him into a police van for a few hours before letting him go. Questions sent to the police in this regard remain unanswered as of the time of writing.
