Voting Is Now Officially Open For Mvintage’s Woman Of The Year Award

Voting has officially opened for Mvintage’s highly anticipated Woman Of The Year award and the nominees include a powerful list of women who work incessantly for their individual inspiring causes.

“All these inspirational women are worthy winners in our eyes,” Mvintage said before opening the doors to the public so that their votes can determine the result.

The winner will be announced during a special live ceremony on 3rd October, which is symbolic of the Pink October – a month dedicated to breast cancer awareness.

Here is the list of influential nominees.

Angele Cuschieri:

Mentor, lecturer and President of Puttinu Cares, Angele is a woman who is passionate in her mission to alleviate the suffering of the children and their families.

Gabi Calleja:

Gabi is an activist in LGBTIQ+ rights, she relentlessly pursues equality and acceptance for the community and beyond.

Helga Ellul:

Helga is an outstanding business woman who made Malta her home 48 years ago. She helped shape the employment and industry landscape in Malta, inspiring all those around her.

Lara Dimitrijevic:

Lara is a passionate lawyer who supports women, families and immigration. She’s also the founder of the widely known Women’s Rights Foundation.

Lovin Malta had interviewed Lara during a vigil that she organised for Paulina Dembska who was raped and murdered in Sliema. The event was organised to urge policy makers to take femicide seriously.

Maxine Attard:

Maxine is an actress who spends her time supporting young children in hospital through the Jays of Sunshine Foundation. She’s also been very vocal about miscarrying, thus helping several women and child-bearers who can relate.

Shelley Caruana:

Shelley is a far reaching social media influencer who has used her platform to push forth awareness for mental health.

Maria Formosa:

As a tireless advocate for ALS awareness who is currently the Executive Secretary of ALS Malta, Maria spearheads the organisation’s fundraising initiatives and the management of DAR Bjorn.

Friends of her husband, Bjorn Formosa, even posted for Maria asking people to vote for her and thanking her for her selfless commitment with Dar Bjorn.

Meanwhile, Lovin Malta has already created a documentary about Dar Bjorn and its important legacy.
