Jeremie Camilleri, Out On Probation, Identified As Driver Behind Fatal Gżira Crash
The driver behind a fatal Gżira crash early this morning has been identified as 33-year-old Jeremie Camilleri.
A health fitness enthusiast who has been charged in court over stealing €92 worth of health supplements and is currently out on probation over this previous case, Camilleri is of French and Maltese descent, MaltaToday reported.
Camilleri was reportedly high on cocaine when he ran into a 30-year-old Turkish woman in Gżira, killing her.
The man was driving a BMW when he drove into a petrol station and the side of a KFC restaurant in Gżira at around 1am this morning.
The man reportedly became aggressive after he exited the crashed car, even with people who tried to check up on the female victim, as well as police officers who arrived on the scene.
Police officers needed to use their taser guns to get him under control.
He is currently in police custody.
