Watch: Dramatic Moment Police Tase And Tackle Jeremie Camilleri As He Screams ‘Take Me Down Easy’
Footage of the moment police officers tased and tackled the suspect behind a fatal car crash this morning has been revealed.
In the footage published exclusively by Lovin Malta, 33-year-old Lija resident Jeremie Camilleri can be seen shouting at police officers.
“Take me down easy, you can take me down easy,” Camilleri shouts at police officers.
Moments later, they shoot their taser guns at him, before tackling his prone body to the ground and subduing him. Prior to this, earlier footage shows the man acting erratically just moments after crashing his BMW X6 into a Gżira restaurant, killing an innocent bystander in the process, as police show up to the scene.
As police arrest Camilleri, one bystander can be heard telling the officers that he had been throwing rocks at people nearby.

Camilleri was reportedly high on cocaine when he ran into 30-year-old Turkish citizen Pelin Kaya in Gżira, killing her.
The man was driving a BMW when he drove into a petrol station and the side of a KFC restaurant in Gżira at around 1am this morning.
The man reportedly became aggressive after he exited the crashed car, even with people who tried to check up on the victim, as well as police officers who arrived on the scene.
He is currently in police custody.
