Watch: ‘Malta Has Chosen Progress’: Robert Abela Reacts To Massive Victory
Prime Minister Robert Abela has interpreted today’s massive electoral victory for the Labour Party as a sign that the people of Malta have “chosen progress”.
“The people have decided that Malta should keep on progressing,” Abela told the press this afternoon. “This result gives us a greater sense responsibility that we must return with even more humility and more work to help the public.
“I appeal for people to work towards national unity and our government will constantly work in the national interest. Thank you to everyone for the trust you showed us.”

Early indications show that the Labour Party has won the election by a significant majority over the PN.
Labour Party insiders have suggested that the gap could be similar to 2017. However, an official result will be revealed later today after electronic counting.
This is the PL’s third consecutive general election win since 2013. However, this is Robert Abela’s first one as party leader and Prime Minister and the first following Joseph Muscat’s resignation in 2019.
