As the year is coming to an end, Lovin Malta is back again with a recap of all the craziness that took place in 2022 – cutting a long story, short.
From Malta’s femicides that took the island by storm – to a fueled general election and so much more, Lovin Malta has had an eventful year and we’re so excited to share it with you!
Here are a couple of key moments that went down this 2022
Roberta Metsola made history by not only becoming the youngest-ever European Parliament President but also occupying the most important role any Maltese person has had on the international level.
The shocking rape and murder of Pauline Dembska left the whole island speechless in reaction to this year’s first recorded femicide.
In March, Malta saw yet another general election in which Labour won by 39,474 votes and an 11-seat majority over the Nationalist Party.
The unfortunate murder of Bernice Cassar – was the 2nd recorded femicide of the year in Malta.
And most recently, Malta’s parliament voted in favor of bill 28 which will decriminalise terminating a pregnancy if the mother’s health is at severe risk.
