Għajn Tuffieħa Bay Voted Europe’s Best Beach By Over A Million Travellers
Għajn Tuffieħa bay in Malta was voted as this year’s Most Beautiful Beach in Europe by over a million of travellers across the globe, while Malta itself was ranked the third best destination in all of the continent.
Għajn Tuffieħa, which literally translates to “Apple’s Eye” has been acknowledged by the European Commission for its dedication to sustainability and has catapulted our island to the very top of the European Best Destination (EBD) ranking.
“Located near the magnificent coastal town of Mellieħa, awarded for its commitment to sustainable tourism by the European commission, Għajn Tuffieħa bay, with its glorious cliffs its read sand beach, it’s the perfect blue flag beach for your holidays in Malta,” EBD wrote.
They went on to say that the sandy beach “offers high standards of cleanliness and services with restaurants and snack bars.”
Meanwhile, Malta itself was ranked as the third best destination to visit in Europe, from a pool of 500 destinations, just behind Marbella and Monaco.
“Malta is definitely the perfect destination to live unique experiences. With a unique offer of outdoor activities including water sport, hiking, biking, horse riding, paddle, snorkelling, it is also a destination for lovers, for families and for foodies,” EBD wrote.
“It is your European Best LGBTQ+ destination and #1 on the Rainbow Europe Map For seven years running. And, if this were not enough, there are the other two islands – Gozo and Comino – which can be a pleasant change of scene during your stay on the mainland or alternative destinations in themselves,” they detailed.
